Young Friends Circle is our program for children. It recognizes the importance of children in our meeting and celebrates their presence in our lives. Young Friends Circle is similar to First Day School in other Quaker meetings or Sunday School elsewhere.
Families are always welcome to attend meeting for worship. Please refer to the Events Calendar for Sundays with Young Friends Circle programs. On those days, children attend the first 15 minutes of meeting for worship and then are invited to join two adult Friends for a story, art project, or discussion of Quakerism or other spiritual topic. The children return to the worship room for the last few minutes of worship, followed by the sharing of joys and sorrows, and then announcements. At this time, we do not provide infant or toddler care.
Currently, lessons center around Friends' testimonies and Eno Friends Meeting’s monthly queries. The children are also in the process of writing their own queries. In addition, they are learning about addressing business concerns in the Quaker way and have conducted their own business meetings.
