Worship With Us

We welcome you to worship with us every Sunday morning from 11:00 to about noon at the Hillsborough United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 130 West Tryon Street, Hillsborough, NC 27278. Parking is available along the street and in the adjacent parking lot.

Eno Friends Meeting is an unprogrammed meeting, which means worship begins in silence without any pre-determined order of service. We have no pastor, no liturgy, no sacraments, no symbols. If someone receives a message from God that is meant to be spoken aloud to all, they share that vocal ministry. For several minutes afterward, everyone is silent as they take in the message. Others led to speak do not address or debate previous speakers, though sometimes a theme does emerge. On the other hand, some meetings for worship remain silent, without any vocal ministry, and they may still be occasions of great inspiration.

If you are unfamiliar with Quaker meeting for worship, you can familiarize yourself by reading these pages:

Children are an integral part of Eno Friends Meeting. They attend the first 15 minutes of meeting for worship and then move to a classroom for instruction in Quakerism and other religions of the world, Quaker testimonies, and other spiritual topics. At this time, we do not provide infant or toddler care. See our Children’s Program for more information.

Midweek fellowship and the monthly adult forum often offer opportunities for worship sharing. Guidelines for worship sharing are listed here:
